Clifton Suspension Bridge, Somerset / Gloucestershire   (Historic Bridge)

The Clifton Suspension Bridge is a 19th-century suspension bridge spanning the Avon Gorge and the River Avon, linking Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire to Leigh Woods, Somerset. It was designed in 1829-31 by Brunel, and completed in 1860-4 by Sir John Hawkshaw and William Henry Barlow. The bridge is within the council areas of Bristol and North Somerset.
