Castercliff is an Iron Age multivallate hillfort situated between Nelson and Colne In Lancashire. The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and located on a hilltop 920 feet above sea level. The surrounding ground falls rapidly on all sides except the south-east. On the upper part of the hill, there are triple rubble ramparts up to 4ft 11in high, separated by ditches of similar depth, surrounding the site on all sides except the north. On this side the defences consist mainly of a single rampart and ditch, but some short lengths of triple rampart and ditch are also found here. The inner rampart may have been timber-laced and revetted with stone and enclosed an oval area measuring approximately 377 by 249 feet. Streams spring from either side of the ridge and the deep valleys which they have cut, especially on the south, offer additional defence. Excavations during the 1970s appear to show that the site was not completed, and no evidence of occupation was unearthed. However, in the past, evidence of roman occupation has been found, with some saying was the Roman Colonio. The hillfort has been damaged by coal mining with old bell pits evident both inside and around the site. It is within the council area of Pendle (Lancashire).

Fawcliff (aka Braunston Cleves) is a deserted mediæval village near Braunston in Northamptonshire. Little is known about the settlement. It is thought to have been part of the manor of Braunston at the time of Domesday and still lies in Braunston CP. It was deserted by the 18th century. The village site is marked by earthworks and lies on the south-west slope of Cleve's Hill. It is within the council area of West Northamptonshire.
